our actions, and how you can contribute.
ABOUT apala
WHAT IS APALA?
In the form of a non-profit organization, APALA is a Think & Do Tank for transitions that works to accelerate the ecological and social transition through research, training, and the support of concrete projects.
WHY DID APALA BECOME A THINK & DO TANK?
Since 2013, we have evolved from a group of students committed to sustainable engineering into a meta-structure offering a new vision to improve our living conditions and support concrete actions. This model enables us to better structure our initiatives and amplify our impact.
What is your approach?
We base our actions on three fundamental pillars:
-
A scientific and critical approach: we identify the most effective levers for action through rigorous monitoring.
-
Knowledge transmission: we develop masterclasses and organize events to promote widespread understanding of key issues.
-
Support for concrete projects: through our Startup Studio, we incubate high-impact initiatives.
OUR ACTIVITIES
WHAT IS THE Think Tank ?
It is our analysis and reflection division.
We produce content to identify the best transition strategies, deconstruct false solutions, and propose viable alternatives.
What training courses are offered?
We offer a training program focused on critical thinking and ecological transitions, with modules on informed decision-making, innovation ethics, and the analysis of systemic issues. We also provide interventions in schools and companies.
What is the Startup Studio?
It is our project incubator.
We support entrepreneurs and collectives carrying high-impact initiatives by providing a methodological framework, a network, and strategic support.
What are your flagship projects?
We have initiated several sustainable engineering projects, such as mass stoves and thermal solutions made from raw earth bricks to reduce the negative impacts of our buildings. We also organized the Low-Tech Festival “Beyond the Concept” and contributed to the emergence of agricultural conversion initiatives (transfarmation). For more information, you can find some of our productions on our Wiki page.
Who can join APALA?
Anyone or any organization wishing to get involved in ecological and social transition! Whether you are a researcher, entrepreneur, student, or simply curious, contact us and we will think together about the opportunities that suit your profile.
How can I participate in a project from the Startup Studio?
If you have an idea for a project or wish to develop an existing initiative, contact us via our dedicated form. We select projects based on their potential impact, viability, and alignment with our values.
Can we benefit from personalized support?
